About   (request update)
Jordan Baker is a graduate of Johnson C. Smith University (JCSU) in Charlotte, NC. This new media-journalist received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts. At JCSU, she has developed a flair for news writing, become more knowledgeable about Public Relations, and developed relationships that have encouraged her professional pursuits in Mass Communication. Her goals include becoming a contributor for a distinguished newspaper or broadcast station, while developing new media techniques for companies in need of social media platforms.

As a staff writer for JCSU’s campus newspaper, The Bull’s Eye, Jordan has covered a wide range of topics: From her first front page article covering the fanfare and competition of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Tournament to deeply personal matters like domestic violence awareness. In the summer of 2014, she interned with The Sacramento Observer, which exposed her to the full experience of producing a newspaper, reinforcing her passion for all things media.
Jordan is currently the website and social media manager for the United College Action Network (UCAN). She engineered a social media presence for UCAN, and maintains it, as well as develops new ideas to advertise the company. This summer, Jordan will continue her endeavors in social media by working for the National Archives Office of Innovation in College Park, M.D. in the social media and strategic communication department. In addition, she has served as Vice President of the Gamma Delta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, planning and executing health, social awareness and fitness programs for the JCSU campus community.
