Build
I have always played with toys. Specifically, toys that consisted of accomplishing something, building, and or putting parts together were my life. In a way, I believe my fascination with needing to design and create encouraged me to develop problem solving skills from a very young age. My favorites toys were, Legos, Transformers, and video games. I would transition from one creative toy to another.
The great benefit about Legos is that they can be assembled and connected in many ways, to construct such objects as vehicles, buildings, and even working robots. Anything constructed can then be taken apart again, and the pieces reused to make other objects. Similarly, as their name suggests, Transformers are toys with parts that can be shifted about to change it from a vehicle, a device, or an animal, to a robot action figure and back again. I spent the majority of my adolescent years fixated primarily on Legos and Transformers, constantly challenging myself to build bigger and more complex objects..
As I grew older, and the world of gaming became popular, I moved away from legos and transformers and began to focus my activities exclusively on video games. While the majority of video games provide mindless entertainment to people, there are a number of video games specifically designed with a purpose. However, the purpose of video games widely varies with the nature of information itself - to inform, persuade, or stimulate. In retrospect, I noticed a pattern between these several toys and my personality. I enjoy building and creating.
From that point on, I decided that I wanted to develop video games for everyone to enjoy, just as I have. Going into highschool, I decided early that once I was accepted into College, I would explore the field of Computer Science. Computer Science is my dream field, and I will chase it with unmatched determination. In doing so, my hard work and determination will take me to an unparalleled level of success, which all started from stacking a couple of Legos.
