About   (request update)
Alicia Montgomery is a Junior at Savannah State University (SSU). She majors in Business Management and is an exemplary scholar. As a driven individual, she has had many experiences in her young life that have advanced her career path tremendously. She believes in life every opportunity is a chance to be great and to inspire someone else to be great with you. She resided in Atlanta, Georgia with her mother and siblings until she left home for the military right after high school. After completion, she was discharged Honorably from the military. She left the military with a newfound perspective of selfless-service, courage, and motivation.
For the summer of 2016 Alicia relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana for an internship with the Department of Defense at Defense Finance and Accounting Services. This is her second federal internship, and her position there was a Financial Management Intern.
Over the course of her first internship with The Social Security Administration, she worked directly for the Commissioner of Atlanta and for the eight executives of the ORC-Atlanta. Her position was a Management Analyst and her business skills were enhanced as she had to be present at all briefings, conference calls, and every entity of occurrences in the office. Towards the end of the internship, she left with a new perspective of leadership, humility, and patience.
During her enrollment at SSU she is an active board member in SGA (Public Relations Officer and Freshman Class Vice President), Freshmen Academy (Treasurer), Accounting Association (Member), and The National Society of Leadership and Success (President and Secretary) while maintaining a 3.62 GPA.
Alicia was also recently inducted into the National Association of Female Executives (NAFE). She is a member of Women in Networking (WIN), and a member of the esteemed Golden Key International Honour Society which she attributes to her hard work of being on the Dean’s list every semester.
She recently applied for the White House Internship for the Spring of 2016, and was elated to be considered a FINALIST. Alicia’s volunteer services have landed her opportunities abroad, and this spring she had the privilege of traveling to Trinidad to complete service learning with underserved youth. In her spare time, Alicia volunteers at St. Joseph’s /Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA as their management student trainee. She assists with all data and patient information by creating charts and presentations to represent costs, budgets, and total expenses annually funded through each department.
A humble servant of the community is exactly what Alicia is. She is the epitome of dedication to public service, and is passionate about the uplifting of others. These aspects shine light on her character, and the person she is destined to be. Her vision is to empower individuals to become leaders and innovative thinkers of the future by leading as a modest example.
