About   (request update)
I'm a passionate, motivated individual with a great work ethic and sense of humor. From a really young age, I've always known what I wanted to do. Growing up I wanted to be a pediatrician because I figured that if I could keep kids healthy, they could go on to do whatever they wanted to do in life. However, as I got older life taught me that, despite perfect physical health, not a lot of kids make it there due to sociological and psychological barriers. My passion suddenly shifted. I was never able to take a psychology class until my freshman year of college, but once I did I knew that psychology and mental health care was the field for me. I'm compassionate, conscientious, and have always put others before myself, and I hope to one day be able to use those talents to help uplift others.
Current Whereabouts:
I'm incredibly passionate about mental health and children. I believe in the importance of mental health care, and that all people should be able to access it. More importantly, I believe that children should have the most access to it. Growing up, I've seen just how real and huge of an issue adolescent/young adult suicide is both from learning about it and first-hand experience. I would love to be able to work in a position that allowed me to make a change and impact in that field.
Life & Professional Aspirations:
My professional aspiration is to become a pediatric psychiatrist who can advocate for therapeutic techniques over medication or coupled with medication. As for my lifetime aspirations, I hope to have made an impactful difference in the mental healthcare community before it's all done. I hope it's a change that lasts well beyond my existence.
