I am Christel Mays, a first year Kinesiolgy major from Hyattsville, Maryland. Being the youngest sibling out of my family and the only girl, I grew up with all boys in my family. My parents seperated at a very young age, so I suffered with anger when I was younger beause my parents were no longer together. In order for my to release my anger and depression I turned to sports which helped me become the young woman I am today. I played every sport from soccer,softball, basketball, cheerleading, and volleyball. Being included in sports helped me to better my leadership skills. In most of my spots team the coach choose me to be the captain and show others guidance when needed. Once I got to high school I continued to play sports but decide to use my leaderships skills for other things such as student government association. My sophomore year in high school I was the class treasurer, and during my senior year I was the representative for my entire senior class. After graduating high school in May of 2015 with a cumulative GPA of 3.1 I am currently furthering my education at Hampton University where i hope to work to becoming a physical therapist/athletic trainer. As I person I am a very hard working, caring, loving, honest, kind hearted person who likes to help somebody by any means necessary.

Life & Professional Aspirations:

After I graduate college in May of 2019 I hope to recieve my degree in Kinesiology. Once I graduate I would like to attend physical therapy school in California, where i hope to intern or professionally experience working with a professional athletic team. After gaining experience with my field I would someday like to begin my own physical therapy or athletic training company to help athletes recover from an injury.
