Claim To Fame:
My name is Taliesha Holmes. I am currently a sophomore, rising junior at Shaw University with a psychology major. I am active in many organizations such as Honors College, My Black is Beautiful, and the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee. The fellowship, Ignite NC that I am currently in, is heavily involved with making a change. For instance, we hold trainings that instruct people how to organize and get as many people as possible to encourage social and economic justice, which is what I am all about. After I graduate from Shaw University, I plan to attend graduate school at the University of Kentucky, where I plan to achieve a doctorate's degree. Later on, I would like to have obtained a stable job at a psychology firm helping and guiding people that have personality and anxiety disorders; during this career I would like to start a nonprofit organization and travel the world.
