I earned a BS in Physics from the only Black, Catholic HBCU in the U.S.: Xavier University of Louisiana in 2009. I earned a MS in Applied Physics in 2011 from the University of New Orleans, which is an urban university in the heart of New Orleans. I then went on to earn a masters and PhD in mechanical engineering from Mississippi State University. I am the recipient of several major university level awards including the famous Spirit of the State Award along with the Diversity Leadership award from Mississippi State University along with the National Society of Black Engineer's 2016 Mike Shinn Member of the Year Award which is given to one male and female student. I also received the National GEM fellowship, Thurgood Marshall Scholarship and a prestigious NSF Fellowship which generously helped to fund me education. I serve as a mentor to many students in and outside of my current university ranging from middle school students to graduate students. I love mentoring and learning how to become more and more innovative in science, engineering and education endeavors as each day progresses.
Current Whereabouts:
(1) STEM;
(2) STEM Education;
(3) Mentoring;
(4) Smart Material Composites;
(5) Nondestructive Testing and Material Failure Analysis
Life & Professional Aspirations:
My aspirations are to become a successful educator, leader, family man, and business owner in the near future. I am aiming to write inspirational books along with fun and interactive science modules and text books to inspire students to build up their self efficacy and their general knowledge of subjects such as physics and engineering. I also want to serve as a mentor to many students seeking to enter a career in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), especially minority students. I like enabling in the students the "I CAN DO ANYTHING" type of attitude.
