Hello, my name is Maliyah Greene. I am a Sophomore Computer Science major at Spelman College. I am enrolled in the Dual Degree Engineering Program at Spelman. This allows me to attend Spelman for 3 years and then transfer to a tech institution like GA Tech or USC. My interest in Computer Science started with an internship I was part of my sophomore year of high school called girls who code. GWC was a summer internship with me and 19 other girls from the 5 boroughs who worked to close the gender gap for women in the technology and engineering fields. I never really understood the impact of women in STEM until I became part of this program, and it made me want to be the person to help make my mark and end the stereotypes that women cannot be just as successful as males in this field
