About   (request update)
Hello, my name is Kelsey Marie Stafford; I’m the proud daughter of Stewart and Ellen Stafford of Murphy, Texas. Although I consider myself a true Texan; I was born in Santa Clara, California but moved to Texas as a young girl.

I am 18 years of age and attended Plano East Sr. High School (PESH) where I was very active in both my school and local community.

At Plano East, swimming was very instrumental in my life for; I was a four year Varsity Letterman Swimmer on the Plano East Sr. High School Swim Team; I was also a member of the USA Metro Elite Club Swim Team of Richardson, TX, and a YMCA Richardson Rapids Summer League Swimmer.

For my spiritual guidance, I am a member of the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. C. W. Wallace, Sr. Pastor. At Pilgrim Rest, I am a member of the Voices of Praise Youth Choir and Media Ministry.

As a young girl, my parents would say to me, “Kelsey, you must have a clear vision, so that you know where you stand and what to stand for — because unless you stand for something, you will fall for anything.” As a Christian young woman, I pride myself in having an extra backbone; that extra backbone is my faith and my church. My church has helped to build the spiritual knowledge and consciousness I have today. My faith encourages, guides and keeps me from falling for as Pastor Wallace so eloquently states, “We walk by faith, and not by sight”.

At Pilgrim Rest, I always welcome Sunday Mornings as the sermons always seem to relate to whatever I’m going though in life; to tell the truth, Pastor Wallace never disappoints!!

At home and at Church, I was taught, it’s better to give than to receive; no matter if it was lending a favor or the giving of my time, the grace of generosity has been instilled in me since I was a little girl.

This scholarship would help me reach my goal of becoming a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and continue my legacy of giving on a broader platform. As Russ Crosson stated, “I give knowing that my biggest legacy just might be the faces that I see in Heaven who are there because I gave”.

After obtaining my CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) degree and certification; I plan to work in partnership with surgeons and physicians by administering anesthesia services in a wide range of health care facilities, from the hospital emergency room to the dentist's office. Receiving this scholarship would allow me to continue my studies in the nursing program at Prairie View AM University.

If chosen as the recipient of this financial gift, I would proudly represent your organization by continuing to work hard to maintain the Diamond Level (4.0 GPA) Honor Student Status obtained in my freshman semester.

Please accept my profound thanks for the opportunity to represent your organization with this most necessary scholarship gift.
