Carol Gosa-Summerville was born in Gordo, Alabama, and educated in the public schools of Pickens County. She received the B.S. Degree from Alabama State University, and the M.A. from the University of Alabama. She enjoyed many years of successful teaching experience in the elementary and middle schools of Alabama and Georgia. Carol was raised in the Christian Methodist Episcopal church where she served as usher, choir member and Sunday school teacher. She is married to Wendell L. Summerville, a childhood sweetheart and lived in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Carol is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and works in several areas of service.

I love the small school environment. My best memories are of Homecoming, Black History Week, and Saturday night dances.
