Miss Benedict College, for the 2018-2019 academic school year is Ms. Jasmin Emmanuelle Carson. Jasmin is a native of Orangeburg, South Carolina. She is the daughter of James Bernard Carson, and Emma Ruth Carson. Jasmin has one older sibling, Shantris Marie Davis. Ms. Carson is a Senior, pursuing a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Business Management.

While attending Benedict, Jasmin has been actively involved in various organizations. Along with the Student Government Association, she is also a part of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Ms. Carson served as Miss Homecoming for the 2016-2017 school year. Additionally, Ms. Carson has also worked as a Benedict Ambassador, giving future Tigers and Tigerettes campus tours and sharing the illustrious history of Benedict College. Jasmin loves serving as a mentor and motivating students to reach their full potential, especially to those young ladies who are new to the college experience.

"Great leaders don't set out to be a leader…they set out to make a difference. It's never about the role, always about the goal." is a quote that Jasmin feels like her student body should live by.

Jasmin stands boldly on her platform of "United We Stand, Together We Rise: Uniting BC by Empowering, Enriching and Educating". As Miss Benedict, she wants to unite and uplift the student body and her community in hopes of bringing everyone together for a greater cause.

Upon graduating with a degree in Business Management, she plans to further her education by attending graduate school while expanding her business and becoming a fashion stylist to celebrities.

Her favorite scripture is: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." -Jeremiah 29:11-13
