Q&A With Amy Simmons

(interview me)
Amy Simmons
Band Director, Beaufort County School District

Location: Hilton Head, SC United States
Birthday: Mar 11th
Joined: Mar 18th, 2004
About   (request update)
I am a proud graduate of South Carolina State University.I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Music Education. I used to march on SCSU's Marching 101 for 4 years playing Tenor Sax (Jazzy Brothers '05) I am a member of The Order of the Eastern Star, Edisto Chapter 258, PHA, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated and Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity for Women. I am from the beautiful island of Hilton Head, SC. I lost my dad going into my Sophmore year of college in 2006. Even though this was the biggest heartbreaks I have experienced in my life, it has taught my to be stronger and make the best decisions in my life to do all I can for myself and others before God calls me home. I am not one to settle for mediocre. I love competition. I there is something that I want, I am going to work for it until I get it. I love helping others and I like staying busy. God, myself, my family and my best friends are my top priorities in my life. I can't turn my back on the ones I need from day to day. Needless to say, I can be a fiery individual. I am full of emotion and always ready for a debate. What can I say...I get it from my daddy. I currently work for the Beaufort County School District as a band director at one of the middle schools.

After receiving my undergrad, I plan to pursue my Masters and hopefully soon after, my Doctoral degree. I will be going into the field of Music Education.
