Best Memories:
My Best Memory is bonding with my Cheer Squad over the past three years. Learning how to be a Leader of 30 young ladies had many challenges, but I wouldn't change my experience at all. Working with various strengths and weaknesses amongst the squad provided me the opportunity to create bonding strategies and overcome many difficult situations. During one of our away football games, which was held at a predominantly white school and community, we were called the "N" word and out of our names as woman. It was my first real encounter with racial discrimination. We were no longer just cheerleaders and teammates, we became a family and community. We provided one another with the strength needed to overcome such hatred. I know that I as well as my teammates developed a deeper bond that we will always cherish.
