Exceptionally dedicated professional with keen interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, as well as critical analysis, problem solving, and visual design expertise.
Current Whereabouts:
Collaborated with a brand to raise money for local Black-owned businesses affected by COVID-19 and recent looting in Chicago; Hosted creative workshops such as textile dying to help children cope with staying at home during the pandemic and share experiences within the community; Helping first-generation American youth in my community about tips to applying for college; Helping start-up brands with developing creative concepts and research development; Improving and developing new digital design skills through online courses and videos
Life & Professional Aspirations:
Merging design and research to create new possibilities for social change. My mission is to bridge the gaps that exist across communities by developing design spaces that create conversations necessary to foster collaboration, create unity, educate, and nurture identity. My hopes are to deepen understanding within these communities by designing traditional prints and art that tell stories, thus allow for shared experiences. Currently conducting research on how to develop programs that focus on issues that exist within the African Diaspora community. Creative space has arisen as an arena for building community and shaping self-worth, encouraging others to develop their own stories.
