My name is Andre Bass, and I am a living example of how hard work and perseverance can help one achieve goals and attain opportunities. I am currently a Senior at De La Salle Institute in Chicago and would be attending Morehouse College in the fall. Growing up, I struggled with a speech impediment for which I received speech services. This communication disorder caused me to have low self-esteem and to be extremely shy when speaking. I was ridiculed when I incorrectly pronounced a word or phrase. Over the years, I have met professional adults who struggled with a similar disorder. Knowing that I was not alone made me feel more confident. I may still be a little shy; however, I am more confident.I attended Ariel Community Academy for grammar school. Ariel is one of the few schools in the country that offers an investment curriculum throughout grammar school. My investment classes taught me a lot about finance, investing in companies, and how to properly save for the future. These tools inspire me to pursue a career as an entrepreneur.I enjoy working out, attending live sporting events, listening to sports podcasts, and watching ESPN. I will continue to work hard to pursue my professional and personal goals, give back to my community, and set a good example for the young people coming behind me.

Current Whereabouts:
I have a great passion for basketball not only playing the sport; learning the business aspect, studying and watching the sport. I enjoy giving back to people whenever I have a chance.
Life & Professional Aspirations:
My professional aspirations is to work in business/sports management and be on ESPN as a sports analyst. I am interested in building his own foundation to give back to the community where I grew up.

Best Memories:
One of my best high school memories was making the basketball team in freshman year. I tried out for my middle school basketball several times and did not make the team. This was a proud and happy moment for me because I was determined and refused to give up. Another memory was my recent senior prom. This last year has been unpredictable and unknow being in a worldwide pandemic. Being able to attend my first and only prom while celebrating with friends was an amazing and memorable time..
