About   (request update)
:“Don’t limit your challenges, challenge your limits”(Anonymous). I stand out as a strong candidate because I continuously live by the quote above. During quarantine, it was a rough transition from being at school physically to joining the class from my bed. Being virtual required me to think out of the box and push myself in my extracurriculars especially for school events like Pep Rallies, Black History Program, Dance Shows, and Concerts. Editing all of those events/shows really showed me that I can do anything I put my mind to. While I edited the Black History Program, the editing software completely shut down and unsaved 2 days work of editing. I knew since the show was in 1 more day I didn't have time to cry about what didn't work out, I had to learn how to edit on another editing software and the show was ready the following day. Being able to push beyond my "limits" was a journey I went through during quarantine, I realized that before the pandemic I was having a hard time balancing between social life, school, and work. I found that I was a candle, I have this light that I wanted to share with others but it would eventually burn me out in the process. Learning and understanding this about myself helped me find ways to balance my responsibilities and time to go have fun. I also took advantage of the crazy amount of time I was on social media and challenged my teachers and staff to do a Virtual Dance-off. Social media was becoming extremely toxic and I wanted to create a space where teachers and students could laugh and move their bodies after being behind a zoom for so long. I'm interested in utilizing the skills I gained during quarantine within a college setting through editing and songwriting. I hope to document my journey from High school to college using social media apps like Youtube, Instagram, and Tiktok to help young students feel motivated to want to go to college.
