About   (request update)
Education   (request update)
UC, Berkeley class of 1991
Undergrad Major: Law
Claim To Fame:
None, really.
Most Memorable Moment:
I grew up on a small farm in a white conservative rural community. After graduation from high school and a few years at community college, I transferred to UC Berkeley. UC Berkeley was an entirely different world to me - I thrived surrounded by such diversity - my close friendship circle included many persons of color, LGBTQ - I knew I was where I belonged, and I've lived in the Bay Area ever since. Truthfully - being surrounded by so much diversity - learning about different cultures - acknowledging my own white privilege and the unfairness of privilege based solely on the color of my skin - opened my heart and mind unlike anything ever had before. I cannot imagine living in my home town, or any town similar to it, ever again. This is what I remember and value the most about my college experience.
High School: Ponderosa Hight School in Shingle Springs, CA class of 1984

Activities & Accomplishments:
Average high school student. Played clarinet in the school band since middle school (8 years total).
Best Memories:
I tossed the clarinet after my sophomore year in high school - decided to pursue a more adventurous, rebellious high school experience. Spent a significant amount of time in detention - usually for pulling silly pranks, but it was fun - I began to learn that I was more than the shy, obedient, church going, clarinet playing, farm boy. There were consequences for my rebelliousness, but I enjoyed those final two years of high school immensely.
Experience
I currently work with National AIDS Memorial as Senior Manager, Programs
I have 0 years of experience working in the Community, Social Services, and Nonprofit industry.
