About (request update)

When I was 15 my grandmother had "Iyanla, Fix My Life" on television. As a kid who wasn't even thinking about her career I said to myself, "I would love to help people like she does". With that, I bought all of my possible career choices to my high school counselor and told her I wanted to be a therapist. With maturity and research, I now strive to be a Child + Family therapist and gain experience working with youth/families/marriages. Although this weighs on my heart, I could not stop and settle for a generic 9-5. Over my years I have studied performing arts such as dance and improv theatre to create a world of performing arts therapy for those who feel they do not have an outlet. I am currently working towards a M.S.W and a minor in performing arts, along with herbal practices.

Claim To Fame:

My goal in any institution I attend is to make a difference. The world is shifting a great deal, and humans need to move with it. With a degree in social work and a minor in performing arts, I will create a form of performing arts therapy which highlights an intimate and personal form of dealing with mental health. My passion for dance, theatre, and helping others with the attention I never got to experience drives me towards my long-term goal of changing the norm.

Most Memorable Moment:

My most memorable college moment was being initiated into SGA as a freshman senator. This position in leadership gave me the opportunity to make a difference in my environment. With this job, I had to take into consideration not only my own thoughts, but the needs of my classmates as well. I've organized a fundraiser for our dance team, along with networking with university staff to discuss improvements needed to benefit our students
