Most Memorable Moment:
The most memorable moment in my college career is being removed from the Lady Bears Basketball team abruptly and witnessing myself discover my true identity everyday since then. As a basketball player of fifteen years, it was a very traumatic experience. However, once I switched my perspective and turned this loss into a lesson, an overflow of opportunities in scholarships, internships, and other scholarly activities and programs were waiting for me. Also, during this time I realized that basketball was not my only talent and I have began discovering my true purpose in life and began the journey of mastering who Raven Hand is.

 Summer (P)artnership (R)eseaarch (S)ummer (T)raining (P)rogram. The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) invites honors-level undergraduate and or graduate students currently enrolled in masters programs from historically black colleges/universities (HBCUs), minority-serving institutions (MSIs), and UAB students majoring in a scientific discipline with interest in cancer medicine, basic cancer research, health disparities, or similar, to participate in PRSTP, which takes place in June and July 2023. The overall goal of the PRSTP is to encourage interest, and facilitate student training in laboratory-based or translational cancer research. Through attendance and participation in designated seminars, research students will be able to enhance their knowledge, scientific techniques, and expertise in cancer and cancer research.
