Q&A With Naresh Rawal

(interview me)
Naresh Rawal
Research Intern, National Renewable Energy Laboratory

Location: Washington, DC United States
Joined: Jul 30th, 2023
About   (request update)
I just completed my first year at Howard University during which I designed a water filtrable hand bottle. This summer I interned at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), where I designed the new attrition testing process to determine the reliability and reusability of the different zeolite catalysts and distinguish the best catalyst to be used in the catalytic fast pyrolysis to produce sustainable aviation fuel. After running more than 50 experiments, we found out that the zeolite catalyst can be used multiple times saving us time and money and ZSM-5 is the best catalyst yet per reliability.
Current Whereabouts:
I am researching improving the energy efficiency of semiconductor chips and making them adaptable to Artificial Intelligence.
Life & Professional Aspirations:
I want to work on Renewable Energy to reduce the need to use fossil fuels and help in transitioning to clean energy.
Education   (request update)
Howard University class of 2026
Undergrad Major: Electrical Engineering
Claim To Fame:
Clean energy enthusiast engineer!
Most Memorable Moment:
One week volunteering in Milwaukee city under Alternative Spring Break Chapel Service where we painted and renovated the rooms for specially-abled children, filter out the donated clothes for needy people, and interacted with local High School students to convince them to attend college.
Experience
I currently work with National Renewable Energy Laboratory as Research Intern
I have years of experience working in the industry.
