About   (request update)
Hi, I'm Darriele French! A second-year Sociology major with a minor in Comparative Women Studies from Rahway, New Jersey currently attending Spelman College!

Customer-focused associate with a diverse sales, public service, and nonprofit work background. Gained various insights into retail operations and inventory management, thriving as a sales associate at Forever 21 with 1+ years of experience. Summer internship at the State of New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities, contributing to program development and implementation. Currently, I am interning with the Spelman Title IX Department, promoting a safe and respectful campus environment for students.
Current Whereabouts:
On a personal note, I've recently discovered a passion for crocheting. It's become a grounding activity for me, especially since it reminds me of my grandmother, who taught me the craft. In the midst of college life and being away from family, crocheting serves as a comforting reminder of my roots and helps me stay grounded.
Life & Professional Aspirations:
I am currently shadowing the Associate Director of the New Jersey Chapter of the NAACP for the upcoming summer. This experience aligns with my aspirations to pursue a role as an Associate Director in a non-profit organization or Women's Health Clinic in the future. I'm also actively contacting Rahway High School's educational board, intending to incorporate an NAACP Youth & College program tailored specifically to that school.

Undergrad Major: Sociology
Claim To Fame:
I am actively engaged in various organizations at Spelman, including serving on the Education and Title IX committee for both the NAACP and Planned Parenthood chapters. Presently, I intern at Spelman's Title IX office, contributing to their initiatives. Furthermore, I hold the role of Creative Director at the AUC Modeling Agency, overseeing the coordination of the Homecoming Fashion Show for both Morehouse and Spelman. Additionally, I proudly represent Morehouse as a two-year Veteran on the Cheerleading Team and as a Morehouse Ambassador affiliated with the Athletic Department.
Most Memorable Moment:
My college journey has been rich and fulfilling, marked by diverse experiences that have shaped my growth and connections within the AUC community. From strutting the runway in the Homecoming Fashion Show to showcasing my moves at the Regional Freshman Step-Off and cheering at the electrifying HBCU MetLife Football Game between Morehouse and Howard as a member of the Morehouse Cheerleading squad, I've embraced a range of roles and activities. Additionally, I had the honor of performing African Dance at Sister Omeika’s 25-year Celebration as a dance teacher, further immersing myself in the vibrant cultural tapestry of our community. These engagements provided moments of joy and fulfillment and opened doors to new connections and networking opportunities that enriched my college experience. One of the highlights of my involvement was organizing a silent student show SA letter-writing event, offering a safe and supportive space for students to voice their concerns and share personal experiences regarding the lack of support for victims on campus. Through these endeavors, I've contributed meaningfully to campus dialogue and fostered a culture of care and advocacy within our community.
