Terry is a senior at Sam Houston High School, where he holds a 4.2 GPA and is in the Top 8% of a graduating class of 627. During his years in school, he has been part of the National Honors Society, Mayor's Teen Council, Top Teens of America, Kappa League, and The Marching Band. Terry led his high school Varsity basketball team as Captain to the Playoffs for the first time in 20 years receiving the 2023 6A-District Champion title. Terry has also received 1st Team All-District and All-Academic honors for both the 2023 and 2024 seasons, Academic All-State honors and City of Arlington’s Student Athlete of the Month. Terry attends Concord Church with his family, where he participates in the Next Gen Youth Ministry and serves as a youth leader for middle school and high school programs.
Life & Professional Aspirations:
My whole life I've grown up in the church. Church has helped shape me to be the man I am today. Coming from a single parent household, I didn't have my father in my life because he was killed when I was very young. In my father’s absence, the church taught me to turn my story and my talents into innovative forms of expression to motivate and impact others. This experience was confirmation of my desire to combine my love for music with my interest in International Business. I aspire to major in Business Management with a minor in Music at and then earn a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship at a top-ranked business school. During this educational journey, I plan to study internationally and acquire internships with music, media, and entertainment companies. My goal is to become the owner and chief executive officer of an international record label that will invest in and promote Christian artists. My company will be a safe space for young Christian artists to innovatively change the way society experiences praise and worship music, blazing a path for a new generation of Christian music globally. I will also establish a 501(c)(3) charitable organization to raise awareness for music education, mentor young artists, and fund music production youth programs. I believe that I am a well-prepared, well-rounded applicant who is ready to engage in the next chapter of my life and be a part of the movement to change the world.
