To Whom It May Concern, My name Keona Faison, the CEO of PaintWRLD LLC. I am a Christian art therapist passionate about creating healing, engaging, and educational art experiences. I've always been a artistic person since a child and I’ve always love to create. As early as the 3rd grade, I learned how to create gimp aka plastic lacing. Growing up gimp has been art therapy for me, healing everything I didn't want to talk about. Throughout time I've learned over 15 different gimp styles! In 2017, I started painting for personal therapy while also being blessed with so many beautiful visions from God in my head. As time went on, God told me to leave my 7 year dentistry career to start a art business. March 1, 2022 PaintWRLD LLC was established through obedience and my love of art. During the first year of business, I focused on selling my personal paintings. I turned my art into bookmarks, clothing, and prints. My amazing paintings have been in Prince George's County Circuit Court’s art exhibit, plastic surgeons offices, and I’ve even created wall murals in Bowie Towne Center at A&K Family Learning Place LLC. I also began teaching paint, gimp, and sketching lessons, online and on Zoom to all ages while also providing art videos on YouTube. I have been a art instructor at WHUT/PBS education and outreach events. I have provided pray and paint party services at New Dimensions Church in Lanham, MD. My first year in business I made incredible profit, but in my heart I still had so much passion to give back to God’s people. During my second year of business, I focused on family & community outreach. Being the entertaining patient educator that I am, I was granted the opportunity to provide art therapy at Howard University’s first ever “Homecoming Fam Fest” painting with families from all ethnic backgrounds and learning spectrums. In May 2023, I became employed with The MarylandNational Capital Park and Planning Commission as a art instructor hosting community art events, art therapy classes, sip-n-paints, and gimp classes for ALL ages! Mayor Cashenna Cross, Mayor of Glenarden, MD, has identified my art program as a lifechanging experience for every community . PaintWRLD’s structured yet flexible format encourages exploration of artistic talents in a congenial environment. On February 3, 2024, I was honored the opportunity to provide art therapy for Glenarden’s Youth Art Summit by Mayor Cross which was featured on WUSA Channel 9 News. On February 16, 2024, I was again featured On WUSA 9 News with Ellen Bryant for my Black History Month sip-n-paint event. God has been so faithful through my obedience! My overall goal with Paint WRLD is to heal the “WRLD” with life-changing art! Throughout my life I have seen first hand how deep and efficient art is as a therapy tool. Considering art is for everybody, The sky is the limit!
