Claim To Fame:
My claim to fame in college was being the walking definition of Black excellence at an HBCU. I balanced the grind of being a student-athlete, making the Honor Roll, and holding down a job on campus as a lifeguard—all while staying true to who I am and where I come from. The real full-circle moment came when I was selected to have my portrait painted on the walls of a campus building—a permanent tribute to what it means to embody resilience, achievement, and pride at an HBCU. That painting isn’t just about me; it’s a symbol for every student who dares to do it all, and do it with purpose.
Most Memorable Moment:
My college journey has been a tapestry of dedication, growth, and unforgettable experiences. Among the most cherished moments: Joining a Division I Cheerleading Team: Earning a spot on the Division I cheerleading team was a testament to my hard work and passion. The rigorous training and the thrill of performing at major events solidified my commitment to excellence. Achieving Honor Roll Status: Maintaining a spot on the Honor Roll for both semesters of my freshman year was a significant accomplishment. It reflected my dedication to academic excellence and time management skills. Engaging in Sorority Activities: Participating in sorority events, such as sisterhood retreats and philanthropy projects, allowed me to build lasting bonds and contribute to the community. These experiences enriched my college life and provided a sense of belonging. Building Lifelong Friendships: Forming a close-knit group of friends during my college years has been invaluable. The support, laughter, and shared experiences have created friendships that I believe will last a lifetime. Becoming a Certified Water Safety Instructor (WSI): Earning my WSI certification and teaching swim lessons to both staff and students was a rewarding experience. It not only allowed me to share valuable life skills but also reinforced my commitment to safety and community service. Each of these moments has contributed to shaping my college experience, leaving me with memories and lessons that will last a lifetime.
