Tina Jones is an experienced educator, counselor, and community leader dedicated to empowering underrepresented youth. With a Master's degree in Counselor Education, she has spent years guiding students through their academic, career, and personal development journeys. As a College & Career Readiness Counselor and high school educator, Tina mentors students in goal-setting, self-discovery, and college preparation. She also serves as Co-Executive Director of the Greater Neighborhood Alliance, leading initiatives focused on youth advocacy, environmental justice, and education. Tina is passionate about creating pathways to success for students, particularly Black and Brown youth, through mentorship, college access programs, and leadership development.

Current Whereabouts:

I’m currently deeply focused on furthering my education and expanding my impact on the lives of young people, especially those from underrepresented communities. Professionally, I’m pursuing a Doctorate in Education Administration to enhance my ability to create and lead programs that increase college access and foster personal development for students, particularly Black and Brown youth. My passion for mentorship, college readiness, and community advocacy drives my work with students in New York City and Jersey City, and I’m also dedicated to expanding opportunities through initiatives like HBCU college tours. Personally, I’m committed to maintaining a balance of growth and service—building a business, gaining new skills, and supporting others in reaching their full potential. Ultimately, my goal is to make a lasting impact by leading educational initiatives that promote equity, create sustainable change, and help communities thrive.

Life & Professional Aspirations:

My life and professional aspirations are centered around empowering underserved communities, particularly Black and Brown youth, by providing them with the tools and opportunities to succeed. I aspire to leverage my education and experience to create sustainable programs that bridge gaps in education and college access. Professionally, I aim to advance in educational leadership, using my Doctorate in Education to influence policy, develop mentorship programs, and advocate for systemic change in education. I’m passionate about making a difference at both the community and systemic levels, particularly by focusing on leadership development and increasing access to higher education for those who need it most. My goal is to create lasting change, ensuring that young people, regardless of their background, have the opportunity to achieve their dreams.

Most Memorable Moment:

One of my most memorable college moments was when the BET Classic came to town. The energy on campus was electric as students, alumni, and faculty came together to celebrate the game, the culture, and the pride of our HBCU. It wasn’t just about the game itself—it was the unity, the spirit, and the sense of belonging that made it so special. Being surrounded by thousands of people who shared the same experience and passion for our school created a bond that I’ll never forget. It reminded me of the power of community and the significance of HBCUs in shaping our futures. Events like these were a constant reminder of the rich legacy we were a part of and the opportunities that lay ahead.
