I’m a rising third-year Honors Biology Pre-Med student at North Carolina A&T State University and an Early Assurance Scholar to ECU’s Brody School of Medicine. I serve as Secretary of NCAT Women in Pre-Med, a Student Ambassador for the Biology Department, and a mentor in the Biology Big Brother Big Sister Program. I’ve also gained clinical and research experience through shadowing, working as a pharmacy tech, and participating in the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy Summer Program. My long-term goal is to become a pediatrician and open clinics in underserved communities to improve access to care and inspire the next generation of healthcare leaders.
Current Whereabouts:
Right now, I’m really into all things personal growth and purpose-driven leadership. I’m enjoying my roles in Women in Pre-Med and the Biology Department, where I get to mentor, plan events, and connect with other future healthcare professionals. I’m also diving deeper into healthcare advocacy, research, and shadowing opportunities to prepare for medical school.
Life & Professional Aspirations:
My ultimate aspiration is to become a pediatrician who serves underserved and rural communities—especially those like my hometown of Rowland, NC, where access to healthcare is limited. I plan to open multiple pediatric clinics that not only provide quality medical care but also serve as hubs for education, mentorship, and community wellness. Beyond the white coat, I want to be a source of representation, hope, and advocacy for children and families who have historically been overlooked by the healthcare system. Through medicine, outreach, and leadership, I aim to transform lives and create a legacy of equity, compassion, and possibility.
My “claim to fame” in college is being accepted into the NCAT-ECU Brody School of Medicine Early Assurance Scholars Program straight out of high school—a rare and highly competitive opportunity. It symbolizes years of hard work, academic excellence, and community commitment. But beyond the title, my true claim to fame is how I’ve used that platform to uplift others. As Secretary of Women in Pre-Med and an ambassador for multiple campus organizations, I’ve mentored younger students, promoted representation in medicine, and built a legacy of service and leadership rooted in purpose. I strive not only to be successful, but to inspire others to believe they can be too.
Most Memorable Moment:
Some of my most memorable college moments have come from the connections I’ve built through service and mentorship. Volunteering with the Biology Big Brother Big Sister Program, leading events as Secretary of Women in Pre-Med, and representing my department as a Student Ambassador have all given me opportunities to pour into others while growing myself. Another unforgettable moment was being selected for the SURES Internship at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine—my first major research experience, where I worked alongside professionals in the field I’m pursuing. Moments like these remind me that I belong in medicine, and that every step I take is part of a larger purpose.
