Claim To Fame:
My claim to fame in college is launching and leading the “Own Your Narrative” initiative! A platform dedicated to helping students share their personal stories, especially those from marginalized backgrounds. Through workshops, digital storytelling events, and mental health awareness campaigns, I’ve created a safe space for my peers to feel seen, heard, and empowered. It’s more than an organization; it’s a movement rooted in authenticity, healing, and liberation through storytelling. This work has not only helped others but has helped me grow into the leader I always hoped to be.
Most Memorable Moment:
One of my most memorable college moments was attending my first HBCU Homecoming. The energy, unity, and cultural pride were overwhelming in the best way. From the step shows and alumni panels to the music, fashion, and sense of family, I felt like I was part of something bigger than myself. Another unforgettable moment was being invited to speak at a campus mental health event, where I shared my journey with vulnerability and resilience. Seeing others feel inspired and supported reminded me why I do what I do, and why I chose an HBCU that honors the full complexity of who we are.
