Hello, my name is Skylar Hurst! I am recent graduate of New Century Technology High School (NCTHS.) I aim to become a Genetic Counselor using Genetics to change perspective in science and community! I was an intern at HudsonAlpha, as a Biotech Assistant. I also remained a student-athlete playing for North Alabama Spikers Association. Additionally I have been awarded NCTHS Biomedical Student of the Quarter, NCTHS Student of the Week, TOC September Athlete of the Week, and 2025 Youth of the Year for the Boys and Girls Club of North Alabama.
Current Whereabouts:
I am currently passionate about youth and community empowerment. Additionally, I am into fashion and social media management.
Life & Professional Aspirations:
I aspire to become a Genetic Counselor. After years of practice I plan to open a personal clinic or non-profit.

Claim To Fame:
Although I am not in college yet, I believe my personality is my Claim to Fame. I am youthful but wise, dedicated, balanced, and loving. I am a continuously learning but remaining strong in values. I work hard and take value in all I do earning my way to fame.
Most Memorable Moment:
Attending CAU New Student Orientation has been one of my favorite memories. It was my first ever personal HBCU moment. Born and raised in Huntsville, Al a bulldog does reside within me. However, CAU is MY HBCU. In that room I felt the atmosphere, the personal want, and the love within MY HBCU. I can’t wait till the fall to fully experience my one of kind CAU.
