Claim To Fame:
My “Claim to Fame” in college is being named Resident Assistant of the Year. As an RA, I wasn’t just responsible for managing a floor or enforcing rules I was a mentor, a resource, and a consistent support system for students adjusting to college life. Being recognized with this award was incredibly meaningful because it reflected the relationships I built, the crises I helped manage, and the community I helped create. It showed that the work I put in behind the scenes late night checkins, problem solving, and advocating for my residents made a real difference.
Most Memorable Moment:
One of my most memorable college moments wasn’t a single event it was the journey of fighting for in-state tuition. Coming from New York, I knew from the beginning that if I didn’t secure in-state status, I wouldn’t be able to afford to continue my education at Morgan State University. It was one of the most stressful and humbling experiences I’ve ever gone through. Throughout my entire first year, I juggled multiple jobs just to meet the residency requirements. I was constantly running errands to the DMV, to pay state taxes, to file paperwork all while staying on top of my classes and trying to find some sense of balance. It wasn’t easy. When I finally got approved for instate tuition, it wasn’t just a financial win it was proof that my hard work, sacrifice, and determination had paid off. That moment reminded me that when something truly matters, you don’t give up on it no matter how hard it get!
