Claim To Fame:
My claim to fame is performing with Howard's Showtime Marching Band at the 2023 Celebration Bowl - HBCU football's biggest stage. We brought the house down with Usher and Glorilla hits in front of 41,000 fans at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. and none other than Vice President Kamala Harris, our most famous alumna, was watching from the stands. That halftime battle against FAMU's Marching 100 was pure electricity. Through all those 6 am rehearsals, that moment representing Howard on national TV made every second worth it. Showtime taught me real excellence is when musicians move as one and make the crowd forget there's even a game happening.
Most Memorable Moment:
One of the most electrifying moments of my college life? Stepping onto the field for my first performance with Howard’s Showtime Marching Band. The roar of the crowd, the thunder of the drums, the sea of swaying bodies moving as one, it was pure magic. In that moment, I thought, “This is it. I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.” Then there was the day Stacey Abrams came to campus. Her words didn’t just inspire me. They ignited something. “Leadership isn’t about being perfect,” she said. “It’s about purpose. It’s about persistence.” As a young Black woman with big dreams of shaping change through sports, service, and unshakable determination, her message hit deep. She was proof: Our voices matter. The future isn’t just something we inherit, it’s something we build.
