With exposure to hospitals in the Franciscan healthcare career camp I was given the opportunity to shadow nurses in different departments in order to see their different contributions to medicine. In this internship I learned the value of nurses and how they are very underrepresented and understaffed in the hospitals for all of the amazing work that they continue to do. My passion for children continues on the collegiate level where I serve as a mentor in the Columbia Heights Educational Campus to a high school junior. Over this past spring I also worked inside of a DC public school as a panelist and mentor to the high school seniors. After leaving the week of volunteering I helped raise $750 for the seniors to use toward their activities such as prom, graduation, and other expenses.

My most memorable college moments going on alternative spring beak where I volunteering in DC. The best moment was singing gospel music on a charter bus as a group. Although we hadn't known each other for more than a week it was a fun time to just be ourselves and scream.
