Salley! I hope all is well with you. I saw your comment come through via email and realized I haven’t logged into HBCU Connect in years! What a surprise! It’s such a joy to hear from you. A quick life update: I enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 2017 and moved away from South Carolina. My first assignment was in Minot, North Dakota, where I had the privilege of working with the B-52 Bomber under Air Force Global Strike Command, a mission that’s both incredibly important and deeply rewarding. Recently, I transitioned to Texas, where I now serve as an instructor for my career field, teaching new Airmen fresh from basic training in a classroom environment. Life has taken me to so many places, and I’m truly grateful for my humble beginnings. I often reflect on my time at Claflin and the unforgettable moments with the concert choir, those were truly special years.
