Undergrad Major: International Studies

Claim To Fame:

At Spelman College, during our new student orientation week, we have an induction ceremony. This ceremony involves Spelman College alumni coming back to campus and personally giving us our class pins. This induction involves performances, our Spelman hymn, history and traditions, and the actual pinning ceremony. Although I didn't know much about dance on campus, I saw an opportunity to perform at our induction ceremony and went for it. I choreographed a modern contemporary dance to Lions, Tigers, and Bears by Jasmine Sullivan. This is something that got me out of my shell early on at school, allowing me to get rid of the jitters but also connect with my peers and show the Spelman class of 2028 what I enjoy, which is performing.

Most Memorable Moment:

My most memorable college moment was modeling in The Spelhouse Homecoming Fashion Show. In high school, I was the show director of our modeling organization, Kenwood Vanity Modeling. I knew I wanted to continue modeling in college, so I made it a goal to prioritize it. I auditioned to be a part of this amazing organization, which I am still a part of today– AUC Agency. This was such a memorable moment because the clothing that I was modeling was designed by one of my Morehouse Brothers. It was a tie filled with bright yellow sunflowers. When I walked on stage, all of my adrenaline filled to the top, and I felt an abundance of joy. That was the first time reality hit me: “ I'm really in college now, doing the things that I love.” I was reminded of how great God is and how He is there in the moments where I feel down, but with patience, time, and discipline, I will reap a harvest of blessings.
