Current Whereabouts:
Outside of school and work, I dedicate a lot of time to personal growth and hobbies that keep me both motivated and balanced. I am currently focused on learning Chinese, with the goal of reaching HSK Level 5 by the end of 2026, and I’ve been taking that goal very seriously this year. Language learning challenges me in a unique way and helps me expand my cultural understanding.
I also enjoy reading and have built a growing book collection, often finding myself at Barnes & Noble exploring new titles. Music is another passion of mine. I collect albums and attend concerts regularly, as I love the experience of live performances.
In addition, I am a creative person, and I’ve found an outlet through crochet and knitting. What started as a hobby has grown into a small business I run on Etsy, where I’ve been proud to see my crochet pieces gain success this year. This venture has taught me about entrepreneurship, time management, and connecting with customers while still allowing me to do something I love.
Life & Professional Aspirations:
Looking ahead, my aspirations are rooted in both professional excellence and personal growth. Career-wise, I am passionate about continuing my journey in data analytics, building upon the skills I have already gained while expanding into new areas such as advanced coding and different programming languages. My goal is to become a well-rounded data professional who can adapt to the evolving needs of the field while staying sharp through continuous learning.
Beyond technical skills, I envision my career having a global reach. I want to collect experiences from other countries and eventually pursue a PhD abroad, which is one of the reasons I am dedicated to learning Chinese and working toward HSK Level 5. Language learning is not only an academic goal but also a way for me to build connections across cultures and prepare myself for opportunities outside of the United States.
In addition to my professional ambitions, I want to continue growing my crochet business. This past year I’ve seen meaningful progress, and I aspire to take it even further in 2026 by expanding my reach and building a stronger entrepreneurial presence.
Ultimately, my aspiration is to become a more well-rounded individual who never stops learning. Whether through advancing my data analytics skills, embracing global opportunities, or nurturing my creative business, I want to keep pushing myself forward so that I can contribute to my field, my community, and the broader world in meaningful ways
During my time at Fayetteville State University, I was actively involved in several organizations, including the Residence Hall Association and U-RISE, and I also gained experience through work-study on campus. However, my true "claim to fame" came from my role as a mathematics tutor with TRIO SSS STEM. Tutoring gave me the opportunity to share my love of math while helping my peers succeed academically. I became known across campus as the "math girl", someone that students could count on for support with their homework and encouragement when the material felt overwhelming.
Most Memorable Moment:
My most memorable college moments came from the classroom, labs and the opportunities that shaped my academic and professional journey. One of the highlights of my college experience was participating in the URISE program. This program was designed to help students prepare for graduate school and ultimately pursue a PhD, and it became a defining part of my college years.
Through URISE, I gained valuable research experience, worked hands-on in biology labs, and developed skills that extended far beyond the classroom. Every Saturday, I attended workshops where I learned techniques and approaches that deepened my understanding of science while building confidence in my ability to contribute to research. I also had the opportunity to tour graduate schools, which allowed me to envision myself continuing my education and strengthened my motivation to pursue advanced studies.
In addition, I worked in a coding lab during my senior year, and that experience was especially meaningful because it gave me the chance to apply what I had been learning in a practical, problem-solving environment. Those moments stand out as the most memorable for me because they represented growth, discovery, and the excitement of preparing for my future career.
