I’m Aliyah Beal, a junior Finance major and Honors College scholar at Southern University and A&M College. As Junior Class President, I advocate for engagement, achievement, and support to strengthen community and professional growth. This past summer, I interned with Louisiana Economic Development, where I organized information to support a $30M government-funded program. These leadership and professional experiences, including with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, fuel my passion for service and impact. I aspire to earn a JD/MBA to merge finance, law, and strategy in creating equitable opportunities.

Claim To Fame:
My claim to fame in college is serving as Junior Class President at Southern University and A&M College while excelling as an Honors Finance Scholar. Through this role, I’ve created impactful programming centered on engagement, achievement, and support, while also representing my peers on a larger scale through opportunities like interning with Louisiana Economic Development and participating in the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. These experiences have shaped my leadership identity and set the foundation for my future.

As a Business Development Intern with Louisiana Economic Development, I managed over $30 million in data to support the State Trade Expansion Program (STEP) Grant, helping small businesses increase export revenue. I streamlined operations data using Salesforce to evaluate the effectiveness of LED initiatives and presented research findings to directors and C-suite executives, ensuring alignment between LED incentives and the state’s legislative strategic plan.
