Claim To Fame:
My “claim to fame” moment in college was becoming a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. as a first-year transfer student. I came to Winston-Salem State University with nothing but a dream, hope, and faith that I could create a meaningful place for myself on campus. I didn’t have the traditional start that many students have, but I knew I wanted to be part of something bigger than myself. Joining my sorority was more than just crossing into an organization, it was proof that perseverance and faith can open doors. It gave me a sisterhood, a platform for leadership, and a way to pour into my community while also growing personally. For me, this milestone will always represent resilience and the power of believing in yourself, even when starting fresh.
Most Memorable Moment:
One of the most memorable highlights of my college journey was being crowned Miss Superwomen Wear Scrubs for the 2024–2025 school year. What made it even more special was that this was the organization’s very first active year on campus, and I had the honor of serving as its inaugural Miss. This experience became a milestone not only because of the title but because it was also the first time I publicly shared my journey as a cancer survivor. Standing in front of that group of young women, opening up about one of the most challenging seasons of my life, and being met with support and encouragement reminded me of the power of vulnerability and resilience. To be recognized not just as a student, but as a representative of strength, hope, and excellence in healthcare, was both humbling and empowering. Wearing that crown meant more than recognition, it gave me a platform to inspire others who may be fighting silent battles of their own. This moment remains one of my proudest accomplishments, because it affirmed that my voice and my story can create impact while helping to shape new traditions on campus.
