My name is J’Mia McNeil. I am a 21-year-old pre-physical therapy student from the small but proud town of Chiefland, Florida. While my roots may be humble, my aspirations reach far beyond the city limits. I graduated from high school in 2022, earned my Associate of Arts degree in 2024, and now, I proudly stand on the highest of seven hills—Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU)—as I work toward earning my Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences with a concentration in physical therapy.My journey to FAMU wasn’t just about academics; it was about walking in purpose. As a young Black woman from a small town, I knew I wanted more than just a degree. I wanted a place where I could be seen, heard, and celebrated. FAMU gave me that and so much more. It gave me a community.
