I chose to attend an HBCU because I wanted to be in an environment that supports my growth both on and off the court. Basketball first brought me here — the opportunity to play the sport I love at a high level while representing a school with rich history and culture was something I couldn’t pass up. But more than just athletics, I came to an HBCU to learn, to challenge myself, and to build a strong foundation for my future.
Being surrounded by people who look like me, share similar experiences, and are working toward greatness inspires me every day. At an HBCU, I’m not just another student-athlete — I’m part of a community that values education, leadership, and cultural pride. The professors and mentors here push me to think beyond basketball and to prepare for life after the game.
