About   (request update)
I am a freshman Biology major on the pre medicine track at Xavier University of Louisiana with a goal of becoming an OB GYN. I have experience in leadership, community service, and mentoring through organizations like BUILD Chicago and through my involvement on the Golden Starlettes Dance Team. I am committed to academic excellence and passionate about healthcare, service, and supporting youth. My goal is to combine my love for science and my dedication to helping others to make a positive impact in my community.
Current Whereabouts:
I am currently focused on my academics as a Biology pre medicine major and building experiences that support my goal of becoming an OB GYN. I am also involved on campus through the Golden Starlettes Dance Team, community service, and programs that help me grow as a leader and student.
Life & Professional Aspirations:
My biggest goal in life is to become an OB GYN and make a positive impact on the health of women, especially in underserved communities. I want to be the type of doctor who not only provides care but also educates and supports women through every stage of their lives. I chose the medical field because I have always been interested in science and helping people, and I want to use those strengths to give back. Professionally, I hope to attend medical school after earning my degree in Biology at Xavier. I plan to gain experience through internships, clinical hours, and volunteer opportunities that allow me to work directly with patients and healthcare professionals. I also want to continue being involved in leadership and community service, because those experiences help me grow into the kind of person and future doctor I want to be. In my life overall, I aspire to build a career that allows me to support my family, serve my community, and be a role model for young girls who want to pursue STEM and healthcare. I want my journey to show that with hard work, faith, and support, it is possible to achieve big goals.

Claim To Fame:
My claim to fame in college is being the girl who somehow balances being a STEM major and a dancer at the same time. One minute I’m studying cellular respiration, and the next minute I’m on the court performing with the Golden Starlettes. Everybody knows I’m always running from the lab to practice, but I still show up and give both my all.
Most Memorable Moment:
One of my most memorable college moments was becoming a part of the Golden Starlettes. My first performance at a basketball game showed me what it felt like to truly be involved on campus. The energy in the gym and the support from the crowd reminded me that I chose the right school and that I could build a community for myself here. Being on the team also helped me find a group of girls who support me and motivate me to stay focused on my goals. Another moment that stands out is getting through my first round of exams at Xavier. I came in nervous about how I would handle college level work, especially in biology and math. I spent time in the Writing Resource Center and the Math Resource Center, and I learned how to ask for help when I needed it. Finishing those exams showed me that I am capable of pushing through difficult moments and staying committed to my academic goals. I also remember attending small but meaningful campus events on days when I felt overwhelmed. For example, going to the NSBWM event after a stressful biology exam helped me reset and prepare myself for finals. Attending the Red Bull and snacks event before my flight reminded me that even simple moments of support can make a big difference. These experiences taught me the importance of balance and taking care of my mental health while staying focused on my future. Overall, my time at Xavier has taught me how to stay involved, work hard, and take advantage of the resources around me. These moments shaped who I am becoming, especially as someone who wants to enter the medical field and make a positive impact on others.
