About   (request update)
I am a senior biology major at Alabama A&M University preparing to graduate next semester. My academic focus is in biological sciences with an interest in forensic science and applying scientific methods to real-world investigations. Through my coursework and laboratory experience, I have developed strong analytical, observational, and research skills. In addition to my academic background, I have experience in animal care, childcare, retail, and customer service, which have strengthened my responsibility, communication, and teamwork abilities. As a first-generation college student, I am committed to using my education to build a meaningful career in science while contributing positively to my community.

Claim To Fame:
My claim to fame in college is my resilience and determination to keep going even during some of the most difficult periods of my life. My freshman year of college was one of the hardest times I had ever experienced mentally and emotionally. Despite struggling with depression and feeling overwhelmed, I made the decision to seek help through my university’s wellness center and begin therapy. That decision changed the direction of my college experience and taught me that asking for help is a strength, not a weakness. Since then, I have continued working toward completing my biology degree while learning healthier ways to manage stress and challenges. As a first-generation college student, navigating college has not always been easy, but I have remained committed to finishing what I started. My resilience and willingness to grow through adversity are what I am most proud of. Being able to continue pursuing my education despite setbacks is something that defines my college journey and motivates me to keep moving forward toward my goals.
Most Memorable Moment:
Some of my most memorable memories in college come from the sense of community and school pride that surrounds campus events. Homecoming is one of the biggest highlights each year. The energy across campus during that time—seeing alumni return, attending events, and celebrating the history and traditions of the university—always reminds me why attending an HBCU is such a special experience. It is a time when everyone comes together to celebrate the culture, legacy, and achievements of the school. School events throughout the year have also been meaningful because they create opportunities for students to connect outside of the classroom. Whether it is campus programs, organization events, or simply spending time with friends after a long week of classes, those moments help build relationships and memories that last beyond college. One of the most exciting traditions to witness on campus has been the initiation probates for the Divine Nine organizations. Seeing the dedication, pride, and sense of accomplishment from the new members during those presentations is always memorable. The performances and celebrations show the strong sense of unity and history that these organizations bring to campus life. Overall, these experiences have made my college journey more than just academics. They have allowed me to build friendships, experience important traditions, and feel connected to a larger community that celebrates culture, achievement, and shared experiences. These moments are some of the memories I will carry with me long after graduation.
