Roger Madison’s business career spanned 35 years experience in Information Systems Sales and Executive Leadership, with IBM. The most rewarding assignment of his career was Director of Government Sales in South Africa, following the end of the South African Apartheid Government from 1995 to 1998. He retired in August, 2001.

Mr. Madison has always been involved in community leadership activities. He has served as an Elder for Genessee Avenue Church of Christ, as Board Chairman and Interim President of the Columbus Urban League, as United Way Area Director for Small Business Development, a member of the Gahanna-Jefferson Schools Business Advisory Committee, member of the Gahanna Community Improvement Corporation (CIC), and was a founding member of the Convention and Visitors Bureau in Gahanna, Ohio. He serves as a member of the African American Advisory Council to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio, and he is a volunteer mentor at with Columbus City Schools’ Project Mentor. He also is a volunteer instructor for Junior Achievement of Central Ohio, focusing on entrepreneurship programs for high school students. While living in South Africa, he was a guest lecturer at the University of Pretoria, and established the South Africa Outreach Program, Inc. to provide assistance to disadvantaged South Africans.

Currently, Mr. Madison is working as founder and CEO of iZania, LLC (www.iZania.com), an Internet Networking Community for African American businesses. This growing online community hosts networking activities for 9000 members, including a Black-owned business directory of 2700 entrepreneurs. The key focus of this community is economic empowerment for Black entrepreneurs, professionals and consumers.

Mr. Madison is a native of Farmville, Virginia. He received his B.S. in Business Administration from the George Washington University School of Business and Government Studies. He and his wife, Joyce, live in Gahanna, Ohio. They have two adult children, and two grandchildren.

Thank you for the comment on my post. I felt that this topic needed discussion because I am a part of this current generation being an 80's baby. I know a lot of young people come on this site, and I wanted to know their opinion in addition to others. :))
