I am also a working musician on the NYC jazz scene. I play in the Steven Husted Quintet (www.myspace.com/stevenhusted). We can be heard once a month at the Greenwich Village Bistro on the corner of Carmine and Bleeker in the Village. Check Steven's myspace page for dates if you are ever in the area. Also, we have just finished recording our first studio album. In addition the band was invited this year to participate in the Sept. 11th Tribute Concerts as part of Tompkins Square Park lineup. I also play in the Zozo Afrobeat Band (www.myspace.com/zozoafrobeat). The leader is an ex-member of Fela Kuti's band. We can be heard on the first Friday of month at Zebulon at 10PM until in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. Also, we have a monthly engagement at the NY Shrine in Harlem every fourth Friday of the month. I also play in an Afrohop group known as Majeekul Koleurz (www.myspace.com/koleurz) The group is lead by a dynamic performer named Koleurz Ifemesia. Majeekul Koleurz can be heard every second and fourth Sunday of the month at Samba International Club in Queens. Finally, a brother is even doing a little hair modeling top loc stylist Thando Kafele (www.locstylist.com and www.myspace.com/thandokafelesalon). Recently, I was a loc model for the Philadelphia Locs Convention. My next modeling opportunity will be the upcoming Atlanta Hair Show in April. (www.myspace.com/southerncountrymouse) Also, I'm reppin' the Dirty South north of the Mason-Dixon Line for my hometown of Georgetown, SC Check out my pic of me with Fred Wesley, the legendary architect of funk and former leader of James Brown's backup band The J.B.s. Rodney, Thank you for the invite. You have a great bio, music is wonderful gift for the soul and I do not hear nearly enough live music. When you come to LA with the hair show, let me know.
