Current Whereabouts:
I work for a Biotech Research company in Gaithersburg, MD called MedImmune, Inc. I am the Purchasing Manager. I previously served in the same capacity with Nortel Networks in Nashville, TN. I worked with Nortel Networks (formerly Northern Telecom) as an intern while in college and started working full-time with them upon my graduation from TSU in 1984.

Claim To Fame:
As a leader in several organizations I was known for my leadership. I was also known for making a stand and sticking with it. I was told that there was a certain way in which only I could say "no" and everyone knew it meant end of discussion.... Still, I think people found me to be a good leader and fun loving.
Most Memorable Moment:
My first day in my freshman history class...the professor was so real. He made it clear he didn't care who we were, who are parents are, what we did in H.S., etc. All he wanted to know was our social security numbers and where we planned to sit for the rest of the semster. But under his harsh demeanor, he was an excellent professor and he really did want to see us all succeed. That and Graduation Day are two days I will never forget. I was the first in my immediate family to graduate from college. I accomplished my goal of doing it in four years. I set that goal for myself because my parents paid my tuition straight out of their pockets without loans or any other financial assistance. Additionally, it was Dr. Humphrey's last commencement ceremony as President at Tennessee State University. I really admired his leadership and his love for TSU.
