Christopher A. Meullion is an Electrical/Systems Engineer II for Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems in El Segundo California. A native of Leonville, Louisiana Chris graduated from Morehouse College and Georgia Tech and the AUC Dual-Degree Engineering Program (DDEP) in December of 2009. He received two Bachelors of Science in Applied Physics and Electrical Engineering.

While in school Chris landed four separate internships with NASA. His first internship he started the summer after his freshmen year at Johnson Space Flight Center in Houston , Texas. The three consecutive summers afterwards were spent at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratories in Pasadena, California. Throughout these internships Christopher learned skills ranging from soldering, to writing a technical paper on the effects of ripples on Thin Film Membrane Satellite Apertures.

Wanting to head out west Christopher took an offer with Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems in El Segundo California. He started off writing Special Test Equipment Software and performing many hardware/software integration tasks. He was accepted into the 2013 class of Engineering Rotators and has already served two rotations. His first role was a Supplier Quality Engineer managing the suppliers for a Forward Looking Infrared Radar (FLIR) system. Chris was nominated and received the Excellence in R6 Sigma award presented by SAS President for his rework reduction efforts on this FLIR program. His second rotation was supporting the same FLIR program but as a Material Program Manager. He managed the schedule and procurement of $10M worth of material needed to support the design of the FLIR. His final rotation and current role is as Ground Support Equipment Special Test Equipment Lead.

Claim To Fame:
Raytheon SAS Engineering Rotation Program 2013 graduate: Successfully completed 3 rotations in various roles and was a speaker at the Graduation Ceremony Excellence in R6sigma: Received special recognition along with a cash reward for Rework Reduction efforts on the Q27/Q29 program while serving in the role of Material Quality Manager Individual Achievement Award: Special Recognition and cash award for high performance throughout the 2012 year. Certificate of Appreciation: Received two honors for presenting on the topics of "The fundamentals of Effective Communication" and "1's and 2's of Getting the Internship" to S.T.E.M. majors at Cal State Long Beach Recognition of Service San Fernando Valley Chapter of The Links, Inc.: Honored for community outreach to high school and junior high school students who are interested in S.T.E.M.
