What makes me special??? I did not realize that I have to be special to be here, I thought just my being me was enough. I was the first Afro American/Black to own a mortgage in the state of Oregon. I think it is good but it is sad that until 1994 we were workers in the industry and not owners of businesses. I have had my mortgage company for 14years and have been in the Mortgage Lending field for over 20 years. I am sure; I have the equivalent of a MBA, no paper no degree.

I live far from anyone that I have found on this site and feel a little out of place. However, you are still my people, so I will just sit back and enjoy reading the profiles and accomplishments. I applaud anyone especially my people for obtaining their degree, since we have to be better just to get to the same place as our counterparts. There are times I really miss my people, in Oregon we are only 12% of the population. I have lived in Oregon for 20 years; I lived in Southern California until I was 25. It is so nice to see so many of us college educated and making things happen.

Life & Professional Aspirations:
To get my PHD in Clinical Sociology, grow dreadlocks and live long enough to tell people what I really think about them, and not care how they react. If you don’t want to know don’t ask
