My Interview Question
What was your most memorable college experience?
Current Whereabouts:
Now residing in Salisbury, Maryland
Education   (request update)
Tuskegee University class of 1988
Undergrad Major: Biology
Claim To Fame:
During my undergraduate years, I sang tenor in the Golden Voices Concert Choir which performed in the chapel every Sunday morning and gave an outstanding Spring Concert and an Annual Christmas Concert which always drew a capacity crowd. We also went on tour around the country. During undergraduate tenure there, Mike and I worked in the Toxicology Lab at the School of Veterinary Medicine. Mike and I were as close as brothers. I was hired as a laboratory scientist in the nutrition laboratory at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and I am now research specialist in the Center for Food Science & Technology. I have co-authored studies published in national and international scientific journals. I was also editor and photographer of the UMES Hawk Yearbook from 2001 to 2005.
Most Memorable Moment:
Tuskegee U Homecoming was unreal. With celebrities serving as Grand Marshall for the parade, top performers and entertainers featured in concert. Many of the major African American dignitaries and luminaries of the time were featured during Commencement, Founder's Day, Religious Emphasis Week, etc., such as Bill Cosby, Sinbad, Lerone Bennett, Jessie Jackson, Patricia Russell-McCloud, Martin Luther Ling III, Louis Farrakhan, Keenan Ivory Wayans, Robert Townsend, S.O.S. Band, Lionel Richie, Kashif, Tom Joyner, et al. The Golden Voices Concert Choir under the direction of Mr. Roy Hicks was something that you just had to experience to know just how grand it was. We toured throughout the year. We were part of the Afro American Choral Festival in Montgomery, AL which was composed of the best choirs from the HBCUs all over the state, including Alabama State, Tuskegee, Alabama A&M, Oakwood and Lawson State. President Reagan gave the commencent address for the 1987 graduation The TU band (Marching Crimson Pipers) were magnificent! They were featured at every basketball and football home game and there was none other like them. I went to the skating rink in Auburn on Fridays and the skating rink in Montgomery on Wednesdays The MBRS Symposium in Crystal City, VA The President's Annual Christmas Party
