Overseas travel was a lifelong dream for Sonya Swinton of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff with a BS degree in Health, Physical Education & Recreation with a special emphasis in Sports and fitness; but when she got her first passport it took ten years to see her passion come to fruition. Now she is the publisher and national radio host of Internet Celebrity TV™ Magazine and Radio Show on line. The quarterly magazine features national up & coming athletes and entertainers along with national and international celebrities. The publication also highlights the fashion designers of Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week to the NFL Super Bowl Champions.

Last year she recently returned from London England covering the London Summer Olympic Games.

“As an entrepreneur her job is challenging but rewarding as it takes her around the world”, she admits. She stayed a month on a European Tour to Paris, Rome and Edinburgh, Scotland. “It was an amazing journey.”

Her broadcast background started unconventionally as a Community TV Cable Coordinator in Prince Georges County Maryland after coming back to the United States from Okinawa, Japan as a US Marine Corps photojournalist. She went into the Marines to do research on the Enlisted Military personnel for her advanced degree to Howard University. While in Japan, she became the executive director of the Military Entertainment Association. The organization’s focused on developing the amateur entertainment performers by providing programs and events to hound their craft for professional careers.

Swinton is the author of a popular book entitled STAR POWER: Internet Celebrity, Successful Advertising, Marketing and Promoting to the Entertainment Industry on the Internet (2002). In 2012, she celebrated her 10th year in the entertainment industry as a marketing consultant to upcoming athletes, models and performers in the field of fashion, film/TV, music & sports.


Be sure to look for her at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Summer Olympics. She is looking forward with anticipation to covering the USA team which holds a special promise for adventure and excitement for this avid sports photojournalist. “I would like to thank the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and Howard University HBCUs for making my dreams become a reality”.
