I was born in Gary,IN. I have lived in Mobile,AL for most of my life.
My Interview Question
What have been some factors/situations in your life that have worked to motivate you?
Current Whereabouts:
*Jackson,MS* Recently, I have taken the time to re-evaluate how I look at my life and the plans I have for myself. I have learned to enjoy everyday and the people around me. I've "taken the time to stop and smell the roses".
Life & Professional Aspirations:
I am pursuing a double major: B.S. in Psychology and B.A. in Speech Communications at Jackson State University. After graduation, I plan to either attend graduate school to earn my master's and Ph.D. and become a counseling psychologist OR attend medical school to become a psychiatrist. I want to focus on minorities needing mental health care in America. I also love babies and the changes associated with women during that time in their lives; so once I'm older, I may return to school and gain education, experience, and obtain a license for either obstetrics/gynecology or maternal/fetal medicine. I would also like to open a private office. Plans for my personal life include marriage, children, and enjoying everyday of my life.

Claim To Fame:
I am among the first in my family to attend college, and the first to pursue a double major: Speech Communications and Psychology.
Most Memorable Moment:
I have a few moments from freshman year. The first one was when I first experienced "hunger". My fiance, my cousin, and I were sitting outside on the plaza one night. None of us really had anything to eat in our dorm rooms. We sat outside and shared a bottle of Gatorade, some dry cereal, and some animal crackers!!! The second one: I was involved in a really bad car accident in April 2008. I had a lot of injuries and surgeries from it and am now in a wheelchair, but it has brought me and my fiance (also in the accident) even closer together. I am missing school because of medical reasons right now and I am now over a full year behind, but it gave me time to sit back and re-evaluate my school and career plans as well as life plans. On most days, I am happier now than I have ever been. Life is truly a blessing; and most people, like myself, don't learn to appreciate it in its fullness until it is almost taken away from you. Thank God for every breath.
