"Yeshua HaMashiach, the begotten Son of God, Himself went to prepare a place for me so that when this earthly body is dissolved, I have a home awaiting eternal in the heavens."
"My passion is teaching the Word of God! I get an indescribable thrill when I see the 'lights on' of recognition and understanding in my students' eyes. It's one thing to know and memorize the words of Scripture. It's a totally different experience to know how to walk in, access, and apply the POWER of the Word as did the believers in the first century church."
"Over My Head by Claudia L. Osborn. I sustained a traumatic brain injury in an auto accident. Like our Iraqi war vets who are returning with the same type of injury, I looked the same, but was not the same. Claudia's book helped me grieve my losses, deal with well-meaning folks, and move forward to embrace a more abundant life."
"I would spend my day in the Smithsonian Institute's National Museum of African American History and Culture. I firmly believe that one cannot have a sense of one's own identity until you have knowledge of from whence one has come. For me, it is a spiritual experience to walk through the collections, reflect, and pay homage to those who trod the stony road that makes my life possible. "
"Hope is very much alive in me moreso now than ever before. I'm at an age where I not only possess academic and experiential knowledge, but I possess spiritual knowledge. I know who I am and Whose I am! I am learning to see myself as separate from my immediate circumstance. Hope is alive in me because I know without a shadow of a doubt that I am EVERYTHING that God says I am AND I have the ability to bring to fruition the lifestyle that I desire while helping others to do the same."
Reverend Joyce Irvin Harris, an ordained pastor-teacher, brings 30+ years experience to educating and equipping people to live Power-filled lives of faith, success, significance, and prosperity.
Pastor Joyce, as she’s known to many, became the first woman ordained by the late civil rights leader, Reverend Dr. Ralph D. Abernathy and the West Hunter Street Baptist Church of Atlanta, GA.
Since 1979, Reverend Harris has provided pastoral leadership to congregations in South Carolina, Massachusetts, and Colorado as well as to sea service commands ashore and afloat. Yet unbeknownst to most, on August 23, 1998, her life was radically changed when her car was totaled by a drunken hit and run driver. Though she sustained permanent brain injury, Joyce Irvin Harris is nobody’s victim! Quite the contrary, she describes herself as an “overcomer.” Those who hear her message leave with a clear understanding that, through biblical faith, they can indeed be the light of the world and overcomers of every adverse situation.
Reverend Harris is currently the Minister of Education at the Historic Little Rock Baptist Church of Detroit, Michigan. In addition to being a Minister of the Word, Joyce Irvin Harris is also affiliate faculty at Regis University located in Colorado where, for the past ten years, she’s taught and designed undergraduate courses in psychology, sociology, and religious studies both in the classroom and online.
Her upcoming book, Living Your Manifest Destiny, will be available in 2012.
Prayerfully consider inviting Pastor Joyce for your next meeting, retreat, or conference. And don’t forget to ask about her Weekend Ministry package.

Life & Professional Aspirations:
As Chief Empowerment Officer of JOYCE IRVIN HARRIS MINISTRIES, my goal is to establish and position JIHM as an international itinerant ministry that (1) Equips the Church; (2) Empowers the Saints; and (3) Evangelizes the Lost through preaching, teaching, motivational speaking, life coaching, writing, and retreat facilitation.
At the time of my ordination, I was the first Black Baptist woman ordained to ministry in Atlanta in over 30 years. I later became one of the 'first wave' of Black women to become Navy Chaplains. I was honorably discharged holding the permanent rank of Commander (O-5).
