Current Whereabouts:

I am currently living in Houston, Texas where I attend PVAMU College of Nursing in the medical center. I am 4th semester student in their 5 semester program and I am really excited. I am also a new single parent and father of my child is in the US Army and just completed a 3 year tour of Iraq. I plan on living in Houston until graduation then I will be leaving to attent Graduate school in San Antonio, TX at UTHSCSA.

Claim To Fame:

My claim to fame after college lies in service to the community. I grew up in a poor and underserved area and I believe that people can help them selves better when educated. I want people in the community to have autonomy and resposibiltiy when it comes to their health. I plan on working in areas where nursing is a shortage that serves the monority population. I want to teach and empower all children, all woman, and all men so that they have healthier state of well being.

Most Memorable Moment:

My most memorable account of someone in college is when a professor that told me you do the best that you can do right now. It made me think when I was so stressed about my grades and all the different things going on in my life. That person told me that you have to understand your situation then decide what you can do to make it better. It is not always easy, but if you take it one step at a time and move toward progression you will eventually get there. That made me take a look at where I was in school and see the goo that I was doing and stop beating myself up over not making an "A" all the time. It is ok as long as you give it your best effort and you gain valuable experience along the way which is better that making and A!
